Notley Abbey Wedding Photography – An Historic Wedding Venue
Anyone planning a Notley Abbey Wedding has something quite specific in mind. They’re looking for an elegant, classic, historic country setting. Somewhere with a sense of past, but capable of hosting an amazing celebration for their family and friends. Surrounded by idyllic English countryside, yet within easy access of an International centre such as London. Well, Bijou’s Notley Abbey provides just such a wedding venue. On the border of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, this historic country mansion was the perfect setting for Zoe and Robert’s early Summer marriage.
A Great Wedding Celebration
It was to be a bit of an International gathering, with Robert’s Dutch family mixing with friends from America as well as a gathering of their English friends. The subtle orange references didn’t go unmissed in the photography either. Notley Abbey is a single setting wedding venue. Everything from the bridal preparations, the wedding ceremony through to the wedding breakfast and first dance was on site. There’s no need for any transport once the guests have arrived.
Superb Natural Light for Notley Abbey Wedding Photography
It was a bright and clear April day, and the light during Zoe’s preparations was great, giving me lots of opportunity for interesting documentary photography compositions. The ceremony itself was held in the Abbot’s Hall. It’s the main room in the original house, with an airy feel from the high ceiling and oak beams. Windows at both ends of the room mean that there’s great natural light throughout – something all wedding photographers enjoy!
Following the wedding ceremony, the guests headed out into the well kept gardens where we did the group photographs and portraits of Zoe and Robert before the wedding breakfast in the Monks Refectory. The first dance there later in the evening brought my Notley Abbey wedding photography to an end.
