Spring Wedding at Hedsor House

What an amazing day, this Spring Wedding at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire was. It was the culmination of three separate days coverage of Laura and Gurdeep’s wedding celebrations spanning most of April. Starting off with an evening reception and party at the Sheraton Skyline in Heathrow, where I got a great sense of what a fun crowd Laura and Gurdeep’s family were. A couple of days later saw the Sikh Ceremony at Guru Nanak Sikh Academy, and then finally a Church blessing and party at the stunning Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire.

I started this Spring wedding at Hedsor house with Laura’s preparations in the Georgian manor house, where she was getting ready with her parents and bridesmaids. It’s a beautiful setting for a Spring wedding, and the light was perfect for photography – slightly overcast giving me lots of soft light to work with. I then made the short walk through the grounds of the house towards nearby St Nicholas church where Gurdeep was already greeting guests as they arrived for the church blessing. The church is in an amazing location surrounded by superb views of the rolling Buckinghamshire countryside. Laura walked down the aisle with her Father followed by her bridesmaids. After a lovely church blessing, the newly-wed couple were showered with confetti before leaving the church for Hedsor House.

Wedding Party at Hedsor House

Once back at Hedsor House, we took a few minutes to make some quick family group photos and some couple portraits before the drinks reception. Some of the guest’s children had races, and played cricket on the lawns, before everyone headed in for the wedding speeches and the start of the wedding breakfast. The wedding cake was cut beneath the ornate stairway, before the evenings party got underway. Before the First Dance, Laura and her bridesmaids  treated Gurdeep and the guests to a dance routine. After the First Dance, and as the Spring light was fading, my coverage came to an end.
