An Exciting Venue for a Worx London Wedding
From the moment I first met Lucy and Alex, I knew their wedding was going to be a lot of fun. They’d planned their Worx London wedding starting with a ceremony at St Luke’s and Christ Church in Chelsea. I’d never been to The Worx, a sprawling complex of photographic studios, a restaurant and courtyard spaces in Parsons Green, London. But my coverage began over at Chelsea Harbour Hotel, in the enormous King’s Suite overlooking the harbour and with views towards the rest of London. I joined Lucy and her Mother and Bridesmaids for the final part of their preparations before hopping in a taxi for the short drive over to St Luke’s to photograph Alex and the rest of the guests arriving.
London Church Ceremony
It’s a wonderful church, with a deep connection with Lucy. The 19th Century church is a grand setting for a London ceremony. It once hosted Charles Dickens’ marriage to Catherine Hogarth in 1836. The guests traveled from all over the world along with family from Canada and Italy. The service incorporated communion as well. I kept a respectful distance still managing to capture a lot of the feeling of the ceremony without being unnecessarily close. It can be tricky in a large church. But the advantage of such an amazing venue is that there are all sorts of spaces to use well in order to get the kind of images you see here.
London Bus Journey To The Worx
Outside, we did a few family group photos before boarding a London bus for the journey over to The Worx, where an amazing buffet was awaiting the guests. I knew the food was a big part of the day for Lucy and Alex, and the guests seemed to be having a wonderful time. Following the wedding breakfast later, guests entered another studio which had been transformed into a Miami Vice style bar and dance floor, where the First Dance kicked off the start of the evenings partying.
