Of course I spend a lot of time watching and photographing the Bride and Groom. But the real importance, I believe, of wedding photography, is to act as a way for everyone at the wedding to travel back in time, back to that day. Memories fade, and recollection is clouded. Photography has an ability to engender details and feelings that have faded. That’s why I spend almost as much time watching the family and friends. Making sure I capture the gestures, trying to interpret relationships and making the kind of image here, that will hopefully be a part of this little girls memory of Kate and Jonny’s wedding day.
