Summer Wedding at Queen’s House
Wow! What a fun London wedding this was to photograph. Taking in five of the capital’s locations across a sunny day in the middle of this year’s heatwave, Joanna and Mark’s Summer wedding at Queen’s House really was something special. I really love weddings in London. Despite the sheer logistical nightmare of getting around the city, the variety and movement of the guests creates superb opportunities for my style of story-telling wedding photojournalism.
Wedding Preparation in South London
David started the day with the guys over at The Ned hotel in central London. It’s a stunning hotel, the perfect place for a pre-wedding breakfast before heading off to the church. Meanwhile, I was over at Joanna and Mark’s house in South London where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family. I knew it was going to be a fun filled day the moment I walked into the house, and had a warm greeting from the Bride and her family. The freely flowing bubbles gave the game away!
Farm Street Church, River Thames and the Queen’s House
We then travelled back into central London for the Catholic ceremony at the fabulous Farm Street church. It’s a beautiful place, right in the heart of the West End, and gave us some slight relief from the scorching weather outside. After the marriage ceremony, it was onto some double decker busses down to the River Thames for a boat ride through London to Greenwich, and the final destination – The Queen’s House. It’s one of my absolute favourite London wedding venues, and provided the perfect end to a great London wedding.
