Summer Wedding Photography at Addington Palace
Phew! This was another scorching hot day for a wedding. There was a lot of fanning from guests during Renée and Dexter’s wedding in Surrey! I started my Summer Wedding Photography at Addington Palace with Renée’s preparations, while David captured the guy’s getting ready across the hallway. The Grade II listed Palladian mansion house makes a beautiful backdrop for photography. When the wedding party were ready, Renée travelled to Elmstead Baptist Church in a Beauford convertible, while some guests travelled from Addington Palace to the church in the double decker bus.
Baptist Church Wedding Ceremony
Baptist Church weddings are always a lot of fun to photograph, and this was no exception. But the real joy for us as documentary wedding photographers, was the drinks reception in the church hall after the ceremony. Bottles of drinks and platters of sandwiches were produced by family in the kitchen, and the fun and lively atmosphere made for some great natural pictures. Before long it was time for the confetti run out to the vintage wedding car and then on to Addington Palace for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Wedding Reception at Addington Palace
The Great Hall looked superb for the meal later on, as guests enjoyed drinks and West Indian canapés around the country house. We managed to get the family group pictures done indoors, out of the incredibly bright Summer sunshine, before the wedding breakfast and speeches. Of course, the Great Hall is a stunning room for the First Dance, and it looked fantastic in there as the dancefloor filled up with family and friends. The balcony overlooking the room gives a great vantage point as well. It’s a pleasure working as a London wedding photographer when I get to work at Addington Palace!
