Hampstead Wedding at The Hill Garden and Pergola

Here’s Anna and Ryan’s super Hampstead Wedding at The Hill Garden and Pergola from a few weeks ago. It was a super London wedding to photograph, with loads of variety with the settings and locations. I started my day with Anna at their flat in North London where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. I then travelled with a couple of Anna’s friends who were transporting an impressive collection of cakes to the Hill Garden for after the ceremony. After more than 20 years photographing around London, The Hill Garden and Pergola at Hampstead is somewhere I’d never visited before. It’s a beautiful place, a real hidden gem in the city!

Summer Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Luckily we were in the middle of the Summer heatwave, so the outdoor ceremony wasn’t threatened by the weather. Guests gathered on the lawn before taking their seats as the bridal party arrived. Anna is one of those super organised brides, so everything ran like clockwork. It was so efficient that she had a few moments to wait amongst the shade of some trees before the guests were all settled. Her Dad arrived and walked her down the steps and across the grass to the ceremony.

Documentary Wedding Photography in Hampstead

This gorgeous setting made the documentary photography of the guests a pleasure, and there was plenty of interesting angles to work before we all headed off to the buses for the next part of the day. That was a short drive over to St Stephen’s Trust – a beautiful former churching Hampstead. It made a superb final setting for the wedding breakfast and dancing that brought Anna and Ryan’s celebrations to a close.
