Kati and Matthew travelled from the US to London with a small group of family and friends for their Destination London: St Etheldreda’s Church Wedding – a warm, laid-back celebration with a focus on time together in one of the city’s most historic settings. With around twenty guests joining them, the day felt more like an intimate gathering than a traditional wedding, full of quiet excitement, familiar faces, and the simple joy of being in London to celebrate something special.

Drinks at Ye Olde Mitre

From the church, everyone wandered to Ye Olde Mitre – a centuries-old pub tucked away through a narrow alley, the sort of place you might never find unless someone shows you. Drinks flowed, there was plenty of laughter, and it already felt like a celebration rather than a timetable.

A vintage-style bus collected the group for a gentle tour through central London, weaving past landmarks before stopping in Neal’s Yard. Hidden among colourful brick walls and trailing greenery, La Compagnie hosted relaxed speeches and early evening conversation. Nothing rushed, nothing forced – just space for family to talk, hug, reminisce, and enjoy being together in the city.

Skyline Dinner at SushiSamba

As dusk settled in, the bus continued to SushiSamba in the Heron Tower, where dinner was shared high above London’s skyline. Glass walls wrapped around the dining room, giving sweeping views across the city – a fitting end to a day rooted in travel, meaning, and a sense of adventure.

There was no need for grand staging or formality. This was a celebration shaped by real connection – a reminder that the most memorable days often unfold quietly, in moments between destinations and in conversations shared.
