Wedding Photos at Nonsuch Mansion

Lucy and Seb booked me for their wedding photos at Nonsuch Mansion and it was the perfect setting! I was really looking forward to photographing their wedding day here, it’s a superb venue in Surrey that I last visited for Ilaria and Julian’s Summer wedding at Nonsuch Mansion. And it was good to see Lucy again – she’d been a bridesmaid at Rhea and Will’s wedding in France a few years ago. You can see more from that Alps wedding photography. It’s always great to photograph a couple who have seen my work from another wedding they were at. It means they understand and love my documentary wedding photography, which is all about unposed, story-telling photography, where the couple can concentrate on enjoying their day rather than thinking about the photography.

Wedding Ceremony in the Orchard Room

The day started in the bridal suite where Lucy and her bridesmaids were getting ready. It’s a beautifully light room, perfect for the hair and makeup artists, as well as for photography. There was some netball bunting hanging from the windows and childhood photos on display as well, and a slightly deflated shark too. Downstairs Seb and his groomsmen were greeting guests as they arrived for the afternoon ceremony. The ceremony was in the Orchard Room, a beautifully light room with a triple bay window. Afterwards guests lined the stairway outside and welcomed the newly-weds with confetti. A confetti run always makes great photos, and crucially moves guests around through the venue – important for variety in documentary photography.

A Superb Party at Nonsuch Mansion

The threat of rain held off for most of the afternoon, and guests were able to enjoy the gardens in front of Nonsuch Mansion. Lucy and Seb then greeted everyone as they moved indoors for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Later that evening, the dancing and party took over the other half of the mansion, and we were even given a stunning performance on the drums from Seb himself who joined the band.
