Oatlands Park Hotel Asian Wedding

Kiran and Russell booked me to photograph their Oatlands Park Asian Wedding after one of Kiran’s cousins recommended my style of natural, documentary wedding photography. They were planning a civil ceremony at the hotel, with the reception in the hotel’s gardens followed by the party and evening dancing. I photograph around 40 weddings a year, and I’m fortunate enough to work all over the UK, and also shoot a few destination weddings a year as well. That means that I rarely photograph at the same venue more than once or twice a year, and I love this variety. This was in fact my first time photographing a wedding at Oatlands Park Hotel in Surrey.

Before I arrived at the Hotel, I photographed the final preparations with Kiran at her home. We made a few quick family group photos before leaving for the wedding ceremony. By the time I arrived at the Hotel, guests were already filling the ceremony room, and there was a great atmosphere as Kiran arrived to marry Russell. After the ceremony, guests headed outside to the beautifully kept gardens for drinks and canapés. It was a bright sunny Summer afternoon, and the guests were enjoying a couple of hours socialising before coming back indoors for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

Wedding Party and Reception

We spent a short time getting the family group photos taken as well – it needn’t take more than 15 minutes of so, allowing the Bride and Groom to get back to enjoying the company of their family and friends. There was a cake to cut before settling down to the wedding breakfast and speeches. The evening entertainment kicked off with the superb A K Musik getting the dance floor filled – and it stayed that way pretty much all night.
