Oxfordshire Jewish Wedding Photography
Last Summer I decided to work closely with the amazing Jewish wedding planning website Smashing The Glass. I photograph quite a few Jewish weddings each year. I always have a thoroughly great time and it makes for brilliant documentary wedding photography. I’d met Karen, who runs STG, at a suppliers lunch at the RSA in London, and really loved what she was doing to help couples find the perfect wedding suppliers for their Jewish (and Jew-ish!) weddings. So it really was an easy decision to get involved with Smashing The Glass. Almost immediately, Miriam and Josh got in touch through STG about their Oxfordshire Jewish wedding, and we started talking about how my style of documentary wedding photography might be a great fit for their day.
Exquisitely Planned Jewish Wedding Ceremony
Roll on twelve months, and a superb marquee has been erected in Miriam’s parent’s garden in rural Oxfordshire. During the planning, I had the added bonus of discovering that my favourite wedding planners, Louise Perry Weddings had been commissioned to pull the whole party together. Louise and her team always deliver stunning weddings, so I knew this one would be special. I was also delighted to have David and Tom working with me on this wedding. So while David headed off to the village pub to capture Josh and the guys getting ready, Tom and I began work with Miriam at her parents house, where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family.
The Best Documentary Wedding Photography
The great thing about documentary wedding photography is that you really don’t know what the images will be like before the wedding. It’s unscripted and natural, and follows the action and characters throughout the day. It’s very dependent on the subjects and the surroundings. So it’s no surprise then, that so many great pictures came out of this celebration! A fantastic couple with really lovely families and friends, all brought together with superb suppliers and attention to detail from Louise and her team. From Rabbi Marcia Plumb, flown in from the States, to the Chuppa beautifully decorated by florist Paula Rooney, to the evening meal and dancing in the garden marquee, everything was perfect.
If you’re still reading, you really don’t need me to tell you that Smashing The Glass is the one and only place to find your perfect suppliers for your Jewish Wedding. Or that Louise Perry Weddings are the team you’ll need to effortlessly pull everything together on the day. But don’t take my word for it, check out the highlights slideshow above!
