A London Jewish Wedding at Little Georgia Restaurant
Before we got to the Jewish wedding at Little Georgia we started at Islington Town Hall. It’s is a pretty popular wedding ceremony venue for London weddings. There’s several rooms available for the ceremony from the grand Council Chamber to the Mayor’s Parlour for a smaller, intimate wedding. Evgeniya and Tomas chose the Richmond Room, an ideal choice for a medium sized ceremony. I didn’t photograph the bridal preparations. Instead meeting Tomas with his parents and best man for a stroll through North London to the Town Hall. Evgeniya duly arrived by taxi whilst the guests were making their way to the Richmond Room for the start of the ceremony.
A Musical Theme
The day’s celebrations had a very musical theme. It started with one of the guests singing during the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony at the Town Hall, we did a few family group photos on the steps. Then everyone boarded a London Bus to make the short journey to The South Bank. Over the Thames, the Festival of Love was in full swing. But we were here to collect the choir that Tomas sings with. They then provided a fantastic, uplifting sound track to the second part of the bus journey. There were a couple of startled pedestrians and cyclists along the route, treated to some amazing tunes whilst waiting at traffic lights!
Jewish Ceremony
We arrived for the Jewish wedding at Little Georgia on the London double decker bus. The choir continued through the start of the meal, before a jewish ceremony in the garden courtyard at sunset. I stayed to photograph the start of the dancing, and by the time I left the party was in full swing.
Here’s some of my favourite images from the wedding – do get in touch if you’re looking for an Islington Town Hall wedding photographer and like the look of this kind of documentary wedding photography.
