Wedding Photojournalist Award from a Harpenden Wedding
I love this picture from Hannah and Simon’s Harpenden Wedding Photography, showing her seven bridesmaids walking down possibly the longest aisle I’ve ever seen! I’d already shot them from directly ahead, then saw the potential for this image. It works well because of the middle bridesmaid who has turned to say something to the bridesmaid behind her. This gives the image a nice focal point. I’m delighted it won 20th place in the Ceremony category of the WPJA awards.
From the same wedding, this image won 7th place in the Reception category. Here’s what the judges had to say:
There’s a lot of human-aided trampoline action at Jewish weddings (and perhaps many other religions and cultures I’m unaware of) but the bar has been set high (pun intended) for this kind of image. Fortunately, the eye of this photographer has raised images like this even higher. Kudos.
