Watching The Weather During A Garden Marquee Wedding in Suffolk
Planning a garden marquee wedding in Suffolk, in the UK can be pretty hit and miss, weather wise. But a Saturday in June has as much chance as any of being fine. With one eye on the heavy clouds forming over Suffolk, I headed off to the picturesque village of Lavenham. It was still looking fairly clear by the time I reached Dan and Philippa’s beautiful thatched cottage. The cottage made a great setting to photograph the brides final preparations. The stretch tent in the garden looked fabulous and promised an atmospheric party later in the evening. After photographing Pip and her bridesmaids I took a short walk through woodland to the nearby St May’s Church to photograph the guests arriving and await Pips arrival.
Village Church Ceremony
The village church provided great atmosphere for the ceremony. Until this point the rain had held off, but as if timed, the heavens opened just as everyone streamed out of the ceremony. Luckily there was a coach waiting to ferry people the short distance back to the house for the wedding reception. All a couple can do regarding the weather, is plan for the worst while hoping for the best. So the downpour had no effect on the party, and sure enough, we were rewarded with sunshine and an amazing sunset towards the end of the meal.
