Another Fetcham Park Winter Wedding
I had the good fortune to be booked to photograph Sabine and Andrew’s Fetcham Park winter wedding the week after my first time photographing at Fetcham Park. It was pure coincidence, but immediately after photographing Sally and Chris’ wedding there the week earlier I was looking forward to this wedding. One of the questions prospective clients ask is whether I’ve photographed at their venue before. Having photographed hundreds of weddings across the UK and Europe, I do end up at familiar venues.
Great Documentary Wedding Photography
But the majority of wedding venues are new to me. And that’s great, because my style of documentary wedding photography relies only on the people. It doesn’t matter where in a venue the guests gravitate to. I will always find the best images in that location. That’s why all the weddings I photograph, even ones at the same venue, have a very different feel. There are no ‘cookie cutter’ images in good documentary photography. The end results are as individual as the clients who book me!
Fetcham Park’s Majestic Stairway
Sabine’s preparation with her French family was at nearby The White Horse. A busy room full of relatives and hair and makeup people awaited me there. I captured a couple of shots of the groom and his family in the bar there before heading off to Fetcham Park to prepare for the ceremony.
One of the standout features of Fetcham Park is that staircase. It’s truly majestic, and makes for a wonderful entrance to the wedding ceremony. The interior at Fetcham Park has just undergone a refurbishment and this was one of the first weddings to feature the newly laid red carpet down those stairs.
Some of the guests braved the winter weather for some selfies outside. Guests were entertained after the wedding breakfast by some very entertaining speeches. My coverage drew to an end after the First Dance and just as the party was getting good and lively!
