Christmas Wedding at Rivervale Barn
December seems such a long time ago. But I’ve only just got round to blogging this set of gorgeous pictures from a Christmas Wedding at Rivervale Barn. It was just two days before Christmas, with unseasonably mild weather. I met Rob and the groomsmen finishing their preparations before heading over to the bridal suite at Rivervale Barn. It’s a fine Hampshire wedding venue, where I caught up with the final preparations with Andrea.
There’s some great window light in the bridal suite, an impressive room to get ready in. As the guests arrived, I was there to photograph Andrea’s father as he saw her in her dress for the first time. A short stroll across the courtyard and they were ready to walk into the ceremony room.
Documenting The Little Moments
After a beautiful ceremony I set to work as a documentary wedding photographer. Documenting the moments and interactions between Andrea and Rob and their guests. When booking me to photograph their wedding, Andrea told me:
“The reason we chose you was because of the documentary style you so perfectly achieve. With that in mind, we’re very much looking forward to you capturing moments between us and our friends and family in this manner.”
I love photographing for clients like this, who really value the long term importance of capturing those little moments that sum up your family and friends.
Of course, it was just a couple of days before Christmas. So there was a festive element to the photography as well, but the real emphasis was on capturing the spirit of the day.
Here’s a selection of some of my favourite images from the photography.
