Winter Wedding at The George in Rye
The start of my final weddings of 2018 took me to the South East tip of the country for Milly and Chris’s winter wedding at The George in Rye. It’s a super venue that I love photographing at, but can be challenging, photographically. In the Summer there’s plenty of scope to take the guests outside at some point, and that helps with generating new and interesting interactions throughout the day. But on a cold, sleet driving December day, once the guests are in the welcoming comfort of The George, that’s where they’re going to stay!
Wedding Ceremony in the Ballroom
I met Chris in the Benson room where he was checking the final details before their guests arrived for the ceremony. He told me their fantastic news that Milly was 5 months pregnant, so along with the usual hectic schedule in the run-up to the wedding day, she had to sort out a second wedding dress! Needless to say, she looked stunning in that dress as her brother-in-law Paul walked her down the aisle in the Ballroom.
After the ceremony, we kept family and the wedding party back for 10 minutes to get those all important group shots out of the way, before everyone enjoyed drinks and canapés back in the Benson Room. The Ballroom was quickly turned around for the wedding breakfast, and again after the speeches for the First Dance.
Documentary Wedding Photography in Sussex
I had another great day photographing at The George in Rye, as you can see from the slideshow above. Despite miserable weather, Milly and Chris had a super wedding day, and I hope these pictures will spark conversations for their new family for many years to come. If you’re planning a wedding at The George in Rye, or anywhere else and love this style of natural documentary wedding photography, then please get in touch to check my availability. You may also like to check out some St Etheldredas Church wedding photography, or maybe some Middle Temple wedding photos in the Winter.
