Widbrook Grange Wedding Photography
I love discovering new wedding venues across the UK, so was delighted when Anna and Chris booked me for their Widbrook Grange wedding photography. This Wiltshire wedding venue is a beautifully presented 18th Century Georgian country house, and makes the perfect location for a wedding party. It’s set amongst acres of gardens and countryside, so when the weather is right it has huge potential for some great outdoor photography. Anna and Chris got married in the Autumn, and the weather forecast was mixed during the day. There was a heavy downpour as I arrived, but that quickly gave way to some great sunshine and a stunning rainbow over the manor house. Days like these are often superb for photography, as long as you can react quickly and take advantage when the light is great.
Tying the Knot at Widbrook Grange
I started my coverage with Anna who was getting ready with her Mother and son. The bridesmaid and flowergirls soon turned up resulting in some great moments to capture during the preparations. I caught up with Chris back in the main house as he welcomed guests before they headed over to the ceremony. Anna met with the registrars before her Father walked her down the aisle to marry Chris. The beautiful ceremony ended with the newly-weds tying an actual knot, before enjoying drinks in the marquee. Kids always make great pictures at weddings, and this was no exception. A game or ‘What’s The Time Mr Wolf’ and Duck Duck Goose got the blood pumping, and made for some great natural pictures of the guests having a wonderful time.
Documentary Wedding Photography in Wiltshire
When the showers broke we had moments of great light, so I took advantage and did some quick group pictures and couple portraits outside. It was a great opportunity to get some family pictures of Anna and Chris and their new baby before everyone headed back into the main house for the meal and speeches. After dinner, evening guests joined the party for the First Dance before my coverage finished and I said goodnight. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing at Widbrook Grange, and look forward to working there again one day. I like to make surprising portraits but the excitement, the nerves, the unexpected, the overwhelming joy, the nostalgia, the laughter and the tears … these are the moments that bring the most precious photos.
