Wedding Reception at Dutch Church
Caroline and Patrick’s wedding reception at Dutch Church in London was a long time coming. With Covid cancellations, they were able to hold a Guards’ Chapel Wellington Barracks wedding a year ago, with just a handful of family members present, followed by a pic-nic in the park with a few more friends. Twelve months later, with restrictions easing, the wedding reception they couldn’t hold could now take place. So with a larger gathering in mind, including more of their family and friends, I joined Caroline at Apex City of London where she was getting ready with her parents and bridesmaids.
A Stunning Venue in the Heart of London
Dutch Church was a superb choice for Caroline and Patrick’s wedding reception. Nestled in the heart of the City of London, the church was founded in 1550, and together with the Dutch Centre has provided a place of worship and an exhibition space for Dutch ex-pats. The atmospheric lighting created a stunning space for the wedding breakfast and speeches that followed. There wasn’t a first dance, but the music supplied by The Krazy Keys inspired some superb Dad dancing and got a number of guests on their feet!
Story-Telling Photography
Even without a wedding ceremony, there’s a super story to tell at Caroline and Patricks wedding reception. The highlights slideshow above gives you a great feeling of the day, with 110 images. As a photojournalist, I love being able to tell a wedding story in as few as a dozen images, or in an album or slideshow with 100 photos. The full set of pictures was around 500 in total, but check out their story as a 12 picture essay below.
