Wedding Photos at St Etheldreda’s
Here’s the highlights from Gabriela and Henry’s wedding photos at St Etheldreda’s Church in London. It’s one of my favourite churches to photograph in London, even though it could be one of the most challenging. Winter makes this a real low light challenge, but Gabriela and Henry’s late Spring wedding meant I had a little more light to play with. After the Bride’s preparations, I met Henry and some early guests at the nearby Ye Olde Mitre pub for some pre-wedding drinks. We then headed over to St Etheldreda’s for the ceremony. After the wedding service, guests returned to the pub before the wedding reception in the Crypt below the church.
London Wedding Venue
This is a super wedding venue for a London couple, with the reception space directly below the church. It cuts down on travel time between venues, and is a great central location for guests to get to. Being the oldest Catholic Church in London, it’s full of history, and sits right next to the renowned district of Hatton Garden where gold, silver and diamonds have been traded since Medieval times. When the wedding is at the weekend, the quiet city streets make a super backdrop for some couple portraits. We did these quickly as guests were seated in the Crypt for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches were made during the meal, and then the first dance kicked off the evening’s party.
