Outdoor Wedding at North Cadbury Court
Rakhee and Oliver started planning their outdoor wedding at North Cadbury Court in Somerset before anyone had heard about Covid. They’d seen some of my documentary wedding photography from some friends weddings, and so I knew my style would work well for their wedding as well. After several lock-downs and some juggling of the diary, I finally joined them on a gorgeous early Summer day in Somerset for their wedding celebration.
Grooms prep at the Yacht Club
My coverage started with Oliver and the groomsmen at the Yacht Club – a luxury lakeside club in the grounds of North Cadbury Court. Just a couple of minutes walk from the venue, it’s the perfect place for the groom to prepare on the morning of his wedding. Flasks were filled and distributed, before they all headed up to the house to greet guests ready for the outdoor ceremony.
Garden Wedding Games
Meanwhile, Rakhee finished getting ready in the house, overlooking the beautiful South facing lawn where the ceremony took place. It was very sunny and hot – gorgeous weather for wedding guests. Direct overhead Summer sunlight can be tricky to photograph in, but I love a challenge, and used the light to my advantage as much as I could. Garden games continued before all the wedding guests were invited into the Ballroom for the wedding breakfast.
I photographed the speeches and evening reception into the First Dance and party. It’s such a great venue to photograph – check out the preview slideshow above, and family and friends can pre-register here to be notified as soon as the full set of photos is ready.
