St Etheldreda’s Church Wedding Photographer
St Etheldreda’s Church Wedding Photographer
This ancient and atmospheric church really is a hidden gem in the heart of the capital. It’s history dates back to the 13th Century, and has been part of the Catholic Church since 1874. St Etheldreda’s Church is located right in the centre of London within a stones throw of Hatton Garden (where you might have browsed some engagement rings!). The church was originally the chapel for the London residence of the Bishops of Ely, hence it’s location on Ely Place. Now hosting Catholic mass as well as Baptisms and Weddings, it’s a great city centre location for a London wedding. Being based in nearby Hertfordshire, I’m fortunate enough to be the St Etheldreda’s Church wedding photographer several times a year. Couples who love my unobtrusive style of documentary wedding photography book me so they can get on with enjoying the festivities with their family and friends, while I worry about making beautiful compositions to capture the spirit of their day.
Wedding Party In The Crypt
Newly-wed couples can continue to celebrate their marriage by holding their wedding reception in the Crypt below the church. The catering is run by the superb Bleeding Heart Restaurant at the end of Ely Place, and their attention to detail will ensure your party is one to remember. It is a dark venue, and getting the right photographer to capture the atmosphere in the Crypt is essential. Low light photography is my specialism, and I don’t need to use extra lighting for most of the time. This mean you and your guests can get on with the celebrations while being unaware of the photography – essential for the natural way I capture people at their best.
