Wedding at Minster Abbey
Here’s Kirsty and Scott’s wedding at Minster Abbey on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. Starting with Kirsty’s preparations at home, before joining Scott greeting guests at the superb Minster Abbey. The ceremony was pretty special as Scott’s brother, Mark held the service. After some quick family group photos, I headed down to the beach with Scott and Kirsty for some portraits. We got those done pretty quickly as the wind was whipping in off the Channel, and headed to the Carpenters Arms in Faversham for the wedding reception.
Documentary Wedding Photography in Kent
It was great to see Scott again and to meet Kirsty – I’ve known Scott for many years as he was the night picture editor at The Times newspaper when I worked there as a photojournalist. For many years he would give me my daily brief for the next day’s story, or chase me for updated photos for that night’s newspaper. For almost two decades I photographed news, sport and features around the world, which is the main influence on my documentary wedding photography style today.
Wedding Reception at a Pub
The Carpenters Arms in Faversham was a super setting for a pub wedding reception. The historic public house dates back to the 14th century, with traditional oak beams and inglenook fireplaces. A superb selection of food and drinks meant a great wedding reception was in store for the guests. After the wedding breakfast and speeches, I photographed the First Dance in the marquee, before my coverage came to an end.
