Stoke Place Wedding Photography
Amrit and Peter asked me to provide their Stoke Place Wedding Photography after seeing my pictures from their friend’s wedding earlier in the Summer. It’s a fantastic country house venue in Buckinghamshire, ideal for a large gathering and party. I’ve been looking forward to this ever since Amrit told me about the combination of Indian, English, Welsh, Brazilian and Humanist influences on the day. They were expecting around 170 guests, so I knew the opportunities for great documentary photography would be great.
Winter Light
The date, toward the end of November, meant the weather could have thrown almost anything at the wedding. But luck was on their side as Stoke Place Hotel was bathed in glorious sunshine from the morning preparations onwards. There was lots going on in the bridal room as Amrit and several bridesmaids prepared for the ceremony. The strong, low winter sunlight was great to work with, if being a little more challenging than the normal overcast Autumn skies we’re used to.
Humanist Wedding Ceremony
The Humanist ceremony took place in the hotel, and then all of the guests made their way out into the sunlight for some group photographs before the drinks reception. I photographed through the meal and speeches to the first dance, and left as the party was getting going and the Photo Booth seeing some action.
