Stunning Goodwood House Wedding Photography in the August Sunshine

A gorgeous Summer’s day gave me perfect light for Jenny and Simon’s Goodwood House wedding photography. It’s a beautiful wedding venue in Sussex, dating back to the 17th Century. As a setting for a wedding celebration, it really is hard to beat getting married at Goodwood House. Being welcomed to a stately home by liveried butlers in the heart of the South Downs and Sussex countryside is an experience in itself. But combine that with wedding day celebrations, and the day is unforgettable.

A Wonderful Wedding Ceremony at Boxgrove Priory

But before I got to photograph at Goodwood House, I began with Jenny and Simon’s preparations at nearby The Goodwood Hotel. Both the Bride and Groom were getting ready there. So I was able to photograph both sides’ preparation before heading to Boxgrove Priory for the wedding ceremony. The clear blue skies showed no signs of disappearing as Jenny arrived in a beautiful Rolls Royce for the ceremony. I love the picture of the nervous groom in the church. Eyes lifted to the heavens, while two of his groomsmen share a joke behind him! After the ceremony, we took 10 minutes for some portraits in the nearby ruins before the newly-weds left in style heading for Goodwood House where the party could begin.

It really is a fabulous venue for my specialism, documentary wedding photography. The grounds and rooms in the house mean guests find little pockets for catching up with each other, allowing for some great moments to be captured discreetly.
