Spring Wedding at St Bartholomew the Great
This St Bartholomew the Great wedding was a pleasure to photograph from the first moments of the day to the final plates of tapas at the reception. Food played a central role in Hannah and James’s plans, and they had put real thought into how they wanted their guests to enjoy the celebration. Their reception meal took place at Iberica, a superb Spanish restaurant in central London, chosen because Spain is a place they both love. Instead of the traditional cake cutting, they wanted something that felt more personal, so they opted for the carving of a leg of ham. The ham was wheeled into the centre of the room, and with blue gloves on, they carved the first slices together as everyone gathered around. It was a great moment to photograph and a fun way of starting the tapas service.
Late Winter Sunshine
The day began at Hannah’s flat in North London, where the bright late winter sunshine poured through the windows and gave the whole morning a warm and lively feel. The light made the bridesmaids’ dresses look even more vibrant and matched perfectly with the colour of the groomsmen’s ties. After the preparations, everyone travelled to St Bartholomew the Great in West Smithfield, one of the most historic churches in London. Founded in 1123, it has survived the Great Fire and two World Wars, and it remains an incredible setting for a Spring Wedding at St Bartholomew the Great. The combination of centuries-old architecture and natural light created a wonderful atmosphere for the ceremony.
