Small Wedding at St Alban’s Cathedral
Small Wedding at St Alban’s Cathedral
I was delighted when Kirsty and Karl booked me for their small wedding at St Alban’s Cathedral earlier this year – two of my favourite venues to work at as a Hertfordshire wedding photographer – St Alban’s Abbey and also the superb St Michael’s Manor. With the country still under COVID restrictions, this was a lovely small family gathering. Even with no preparation photos, and coverage ending shortly after the ceremony, it still made a super story, as you can see from their preview slideshow above.
Getting Married in a Cathedral
St Alban’s Cathedral is a wonderfully historic place for a wedding ceremony. If you live in the parish and worship regularly at the Abbey, you may be able to get married in the Cathedral. The shrine of St Alban was why the Abbey was founded with the town growing up around it. King Offa of Mercia first founded a monastery in 793, with Paul of Caen building the Tower in the 12th Century, using bricks and tiles from the ruins of Roman Verulamium. Today, the Cathedral is a lively centre in the city of St Alban’s, and the Lady Chapel provides a super venue for a wedding ceremony.
Documentary Wedding Photography in Hertfordshire
As a Hertfordshire wedding photographer based in nearby Hitchin in Hertfordshire, I’m easily able to photograph weddings at St Alban’s Cathedral. My style of unposed documentary wedding photography means you can spend as much time as possible with your family and friends, knowing your photography is in safe hands. I won’t stop and pose anyone, and your wedding album will remind you how you felt on your wedding day.
