Christmas Wedding at Hatfield House
On a mild December weekend before the seasonal festivities began, I joined Penny and John for their Christmas wedding at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. A super venue, The Old Palace made the perfect setting for a festive celebration with their family and friends. I started my photography at Penny’s preparations in nearby Harpenden, where she was busy getting ready with her sisters and bridesmaids. There was some lovely light up in the attic room where Penny got dressed and it gave me a great view as the vintage Rolls Royce turned up just before I left for Hatfield House.
Winter Wedding at The Old Palace
Over at The Old Palace, John and the groomsmen welcomed family and friends as they arrived for the ceremony. The venue looked appropriately festive with fairy lights and a Christmas tree. After the wedding ceremony, guests enjoyed some canapés and drinks while we sorted out some very quick family group pictures outside and a short walk through the gardens for some couple portraits.
Ice Sculpture
There were some amusing insights into Penny during her Father’s speech, with John and the best man’s speech continuing the guests entertainment. A string quartet and Jazz band provided the music before a sparkler send-off outside the Palace. Later in the evening guests had the chance of getting a refreshing cool shot at the Vodka luge, in the shape of the Spurs logo. My coverage took in the First Dance and some of the party afterwards before I said goodnight.
