Fulham Palace Chapel Wedding
Skyler and Max chose to have a Fulham Palace Chapel Wedding as they grew up in the area and had fond memories of Fulham Palace as well as the beautiful walled garden. This historic wedding venue on the banks of the River Thames is a truly stunning location to celebrate getting married with your family and friends. It’s a versatile full service venue, with the Great Hall providing a suitably grand place for the ceremony, as well as the on-site chapel for a religious blessing. Of course, many couples are attracted to the sunny Tudor Courtyard, where guests can mingle between the ceremony and wedding breakfast in the Chaplain’s walled garden marquee.
Wedding Ceremony in the Great Hall
I started my photography coverage with Max and the groomsmen who met up at the nearby Crabtree pub. If the logistics allow, I often like to spend a little time with the groom before photographing the bride’s preparations. It makes a good start to the story, and means there’s a page or two in the wedding album that the Bride didn’t see on the day. I then headed over to photograph the final preparations with Skyler before walking to Fulham Palace where the guests were gathered in the Courtyard. Before the Bride arrived, we all headed to the oldest part of the Palace – the Great Hall. With the dark wood panelling and striking fireplace, it’s the perfect location for a wedding ceremony.
Wedding Portraits in the Walled Garden
After the ceremony, there was drinks and canapes in the Tudor Courtyard before a wedding blessing in the Chapel. This made for a second set of great ceremony photos, and allowed Skyler and Max to enjoy a religious part to their wedding day. As the guests made their way to the marquee for the wedding speeches and meal, I headed with the newly-weds to the walled garden for a quick set of portraits. As a documentary wedding photographer, I don’t spend hours on a lengthy portrait session. It’s more important for me, and my clients, to spend as much time having fun with their guests as possible. After the meal and speeches, I photographed the First Dance which is where my coverage ended.
Check out Skyler and Max’s stunning Fulham Palace Chapel wedding in the highlights slideshow above. There’s 130 photos in around 4 minutes, and it tells the story of their wedding day perfectly.
