Middle Temple Wedding Photography

One of London’s Most Historic Wedding Venues

The beauty of planning a London wedding is the sheer variety of venues available – from centuries old palaces, steeped in historic significance, through to the most modern structures with state of the art kitchen and dining facilities. Middle Temple falls very definitely into the former category, with it’s 16th Century banqueting hall and stunning portraits adorning the corridors.

Originating in the 13th Century, the Inns of Court were hostels and schools for student lawyers. The Middle Temple is part of the headquarters of the Knights Templar, the Catholic military order famed for their involvement in the Crusades, and disbanded in 1312. Nowadays it provides training for pupil barristers and a home for barristers chambers, as well as a magnificent setting for wedding celebrations.

Superb Setting for  Wedding Photography

With it’s setting at the heart of London’s legal quarter, it’s just a stones throw from Fleet Street, The Strand and Embankment. As well as the banqueting hall, the venue consists of the Bench Apartments, three additional rooms available for smaller parties and receptions. If you’re planning a Summer wedding, the award winning gardens, overlooking the river Thames, provide the perfect setting for some outdoor wedding photography.

Jialei and David’s wedding, featured here, began at the nearby Apex Temple Court Hotel where the wedding party got ready, before a superb ceremony at Temple Church, also built by the Knights Templar. It was a short walk to Middle Temple after the ceremony, where the drinks reception and wedding breakfast were held. The Bench Apartments provided the background for some quick family group photos before we used the main Hall and surrounding cobbled streets for some portraits.

More Middle Temple Wedding Photography

It’s an amazing setting for wedding photography – there’s a huge amount of scope for great story-telling photography, as you can see from the slideshow above.
