Winter Wedding at Fitzrovia Chapel
Here’s a great fun Winter wedding at Fitzrovia Chapel in London. with Si and Nat. This unusual gothic chapel in central London was the perfect setting for an intimate Winter celebration. But before we got to this super Grade II listed venue, we started coverage at the Andaz Hotel in Liverpool Street where family and friends were gathering before heading over to the chapel for the ceremony. It’s a super place to meet before a wedding, and the 1901 Ballroom entrance lobby felt warming and cosy in the oncoming Winter storm. Once Si and Nat had greeted everyone, we headed over to the other side of London for the start of the wedding ceremony.
Same Sex Wedding Ceremony at Fitzrovia Chapel
Light is always a concern during mid-Winter weddings, so we took advantage of what little light was left before the ceremony, and did some quick couple portraits before arriving at the chapel. This unusual venue was built in 1891 as the Middlesex Hospital Chapel. As the hospital was rebuilt, the chapel remained and was integrated into University College Hospital. It’s now surrounded by residential buildings, and stands in Pearson Square, named after it’s original designer John Loughborough Pearson. This unique setting was the perfect place for Si and Nat’s wedding celebration.
Wedding Reception at The Andaz
There was a quick drinks reception after the ceremony before everyone made their way across London back to the Andaz Hotel for the wedding breakfast. After the wedding speeches, the threatened Winter storm broke, and the city was quickly covered in a blanket of snow. There was time before coverage ended, to make some more quick couple portraits in the Winter weather. You might also enjoy this Ceilidh at Clevedon Hall, or a Same Sex Glamping Wedding.
