House of Commons Wedding Photographer

The great thing about being a London Wedding Photographer is the variety of venues, including the chance to be a House of Commons Wedding photographer. It’s a unique wedding venue at the heart of power in London, and is the perfect setting for London couples, or anyone wanting a truly historic place to get married. The Palace of Westminster can provide facilities to suit different types of wedding celebration, from a lavish wedding breakfast through to civil ceremony and intimate reception.

The Members’ Dining Room

The Members’ Dining room is a stunning 19th Century room, originally intended as a conference room, but created in 1871 to provide more dining facilities for Members of Parliament. The elaborate ceiling is constructed from carved shields from around the country, with the walls covered in Scott-Cuthbertson wallpaper. It’s a beautiful location to hold a civil ceremony or even reception drinks after a wedding ceremony elsewhere in the capital. The Members’ Dining room is able to accommodate up to 150 guests for a wedding ceremony.

A More Intimate Civil Ceremony

For a smaller, more intimate room to get married, there’s the Jubilee Room which holds up to 60 guests. It’s located in the annex of Westminster Hall and was established in 1977 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The annex was originally completed in 1888, but suffered fire damage after the House of Commons was bombed by the IRA in 1974. It’s been beautifully restored and offers the perfect location for a smaller civil ceremony.

Wherever you’re contemplating for your London wedding, take some inspiration from some of my work here as a House of Commons Wedding photographer – it’s a wedding venue that really suits my style of unposed, documentary wedding photography. If this looks like the kind of relaxed approach you’re looking for, please get in touch to receive some more information.
