Outdoor Wedding at Swallows Oast
Katie and Aaron booked me to photograph their Outdoor wedding at Swallows Oast after seeing me photograph their friends Spring wedding at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. It’s always great when couples have seen how I work at a friend’s wedding, and love my style of unposed documentary wedding photography. I was delighted that Sam and Sunita would also be attending this Outdoor wedding ceremony and was looking forward to catching up with them after photographing their wedding the Summer before.
Versatile East Sussex Wedding Venue
What a super location for an outdoor wedding ceremony this was. The weather was on our side as Aaron and the guys checked on the finishing touches to the oak-beamed banqueting hall. The hall had been decorated with hundreds of hand-made paper birds, created by months of painstaking work by Katie and Aaron. It really was a sight and would make an amazing view later on when the guests headed in for the wedding breakfast. But first, they had an outdoor woodland wedding ceremony planned, a short walk away through Swallows Trail.
Outdoor Wedding Games
After a beautiful ceremony, guests made their way out to the open fields with stunning views over the East Sussex countryside. Part of the attraction of holding an outdoor wedding at Swallows Oast is this view, and the possibilities for lots of fun outdoor games while canapes and drinks are served. One of the best moments was the Bridesmaid v Groomsmen tug-of-war. You can see the results of this contest in some of the photos below! Guests soon headed back to the main courtyard for dinner and speeches, followed by some superb dancing in the Banqueting Hall.
