A Beautiful Orchardleigh House Frome Wedding
It was my former life and a news photojournalist at The Times that brought me to Frome. The ex-picture editor of The TImes asked if I’d be able to provide Orchardleigh House Frome wedding photography for her nephew. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to photograph at this amazing wedding venue! Nestled in the Eastern end of the Mendip Hills, Frome is just a stones throw from Bath. Orchardleigh House lies just a couple of miles out of Frome set in the privately held Orchardleigh Estate. It’s a Victorian country house, with it’s own church and 18-hole golf course. The extensive grounds make it a stunning wedding venue providing great Orchardleigh House wedding photography.
Superb Somerset Light
I started my day with Martina’s preparations at the house. Guests were already arriving at the country hotel, as well as James and the rest of the groomsmen. The high windowed rooms gave me some beautiful light to work with. Coupled with a fun atmosphere, it made for some great documentary photography. When Martina was ready, we headed down to the Main Hall where the guests were seated for the wedding ceremony. It was a magnificent setting for the marriage.
Countryside Around Frome
After the ceremony, wedding guests enjoyed the Somerset countryside from the garden. The low sunlight made the Frome countryside look amazing. There were plenty of great moments to capture. As a documentary wedding photographer, you can’t ask for more! Meanwhile, the Ballroom and Library were being prepared for the wedding breakfast.
First Dance in The Library
Following the meal and speeches, guests enjoyed the rest of the manor house before returning to the library. Martina and James’ first dance started the evening entertainment, which is where my coverage ended.
