Heather and Harry got in touch last year to see if I was available for their Millbridge Court wedding photography on Valentines weekend this year. They’d seen my work before, and knew that my style of relaxed, unposed photography would be a perfect fit for themselves and their family and friends. It keeps the formal family pictures to a minimum, meaning more time spent with their loved ones, and better, documentary photography for me. So the arrangements were made and I was delighted to be joining them as their wedding photographer a few months later on a late Winter morning in Frensham in the Surrey countryside for their wedding party.

Natural Photography at Millbridge Court Hotel

I’d not photographed at Millbridge Court Hotel before. I love working at new wedding venues, it’s always exciting finding where the best light or compositions are to be found. I don’t look at other photographers work from the same venue. There’s really no point, as no two couples or weddings are the same. And my style of documentary wedding photography means I go where the action is – there’s no need for me to know the layout of a Hotel, or the spot that every couple has the exact same portrait taken in. The coverage started with Harry and some early guests arriving at the hotel, before I joined Heather in the bridal suite upstairs getting ready with her bridesmaids.

Stunning Wedding Flowers

Check out the stunning floral arch created by White Lilac Florist for the ceremony! It set the scene for the wedding ceremony perfectly, and their arrangements throughout the venue were top class. The ceremony itself was beautiful, and before long the guests were using the full scope of the hotel and gardens for their reception drinks and canapés. It was still a little cold at this point in the year, so we didn’t hang about when getting the family group photos ticked off the list before we all headed indoors for the start of the meal and the speeches. There was a beautiful, heart-felt speech from Harry and Heather’s daughter, bringing tears to both bride and groom.
