Jewish wedding at Longstowe Hall
Julie and James started planning their Jewish wedding at Longstowe Hall last Autumn, and had commissioned super wedding planner Louise Perry to help with the arrangements. Louise kindly put them in touch with me, and they really liked my style of natural documentary wedding photography. Almost a year later, on a warm Summer’s day at Longstowe Hall, Cambridge, I started my coverage with James getting ready at nearby Kingston Barns. Everything was nice and relaxed with James and his best man, and I was soon back at Longstowe Hall for Julie’s preparations.
Cambridgeshire Wedding Venue
There’s many fine wedding venues in Cambridge, including places like the popular South Farm and nearby Anstey Hall. So why was Longstowe Hall the perfect wedding venue for this Jewish wedding? For a start, the location is unsurpassed. It’s just a short drive up the M11 motorway from London, and close to Cambridge and all of it’s super facilities. But it’s the setting that’s really magical. The 19th Century gardens really do make a stunning setting for the wedding reception as well as the photography. And the purpose built Longstowe Hall marquee is superb for the kind of dancing that all good Jewish weddings have!
Every Wedding Is Different
I photograph lots of weddings during the Summer months, but they’re all unique, and all have elements and moments that make them stand out from any other wedding. For Julie and James’ Jewish wedding at Longstowe Hall, it has to be the Father of the Bride stripping off during his speech. Nothing too risqué, just someone getting out of a 3 piece suit and into a much more comfortable t-shirt and cap. Well, that moment, or the one a few seconds later when Julie’s Mother joined him at the mic to perform a rap duet!
