Autumn Wedding at the Great Barn in Devon

Tish and Lionel’s Autumn wedding at The Great Barn in Devon really was a pleasure to photograph. This barn wedding venue, with 15th Century History and charm, has all the trappings of a thoroughly modern 21st Century wedding venue. At it’s heart, the 23 meter long Barn serves as the focal point for the day, and is a superb space for a wedding celebration. With on site accommodation, and surrounded by 120 acres of the most beautiful Devon countryside, you’d really be hard pressed to find a better wedding venue this close to Exeter.

Documentary Wedding Photography in Devon

My coverage began with Tish and her family at one of the estate cottages near the Great Barn. They’d chosen my style of documentary wedding photography after seeing my work from Eleanor and Jamie’s Winter wedding at St Etheldreda’s church in London, so I knew they’d be the perfect match for my unposed and natural wedding photography. Once the preparations had been photographed I headed off to St Catherine’s Church in Whtestone, Cheriton Bishop to photograph their beautiful church wedding ceremony.

Barn Wedding Reception

Busses then ferried guests back from the ceremony to The Great Barn for the wedding reception. There were showers all afternoon, but we were fortunate enough to have enough of a gap that meant the speeches could take place in the beautiful gardens of one of the estate’s cottages, before the wedding breakfast and evening party began in the Great Barn.
